Expect Goodell to meet with Roethlisberger this week

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has mentioned several times that he will be meeting with Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger regardless of whether or not charges are filed following sexual assault allegations in Georgia.

With an announcement from the district attorney’s office in Milledgeville, Ga., due Monday regarding the potential charges, the Goodell-Roethlisberger meeting is likely to take place later this week.

Goodell has a long and strong relationship with the Rooney family and has spoken repeatedly about the severity of this situation. Regardless of the outcome, league insiders expect a meeting to take place this week and for Goodell to suggest alterations to Roethlisberger’s lifestyle and perhaps some counseling as well.
