The Boston Globe, citing league sources, reports that Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant visited the Patriots on Thursday.
The Patriots could be an interesting spot for Bryant. WR Randy Moss is in the last year of his contract, and has speculated that he might not be back in 2011. WR Wes Welker is coming off a severe knee injury, and his status will be in question. So a guy like Bryant could infuse some young talent into the position.
A few other notable visits (or non-visit if you will):
- The Buccaneers will welcome DT Gerald McCoy on Sunday, according to the Tampa Tribune. Many mock drafts have the Buccaneers targeting McCoy at No. 3, with Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford and Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh expected to come off the board with the first two picks to St. Louis and Detroit, respectively. Suh will make a visit to Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
- The Philadelphia Daily News reports that the Eagles are not interested in Florida QB Tim Tebow, refuting other published reports. A league source told the Daily News that the Eagles have no plans to bring Tebow in for a visit, nor conduct a private workout. That does not mean that the Eagles are out of the Tebow sweepstakes. But the team would be more likely to bring in a veteran like Marc Bulger, especially if the team trades Michael Vick, according to the Daily News.
