South Carolina had seven players work out at the school’s pro day on March 31. Twenty-eight NFL teams showed up to witness the workout outdoors on grass.
Linebacker Eric Norwood (6-foot-0 5/8, 241 pounds) was on hand and did 21 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds and stood on his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Norwood had to leave early to catch a plane to Pittsburgh for a personal meeting with the Steelers.
Defensive end Clifton Geathers (6-7 1/2, 297) kept his 40-yard dash, vertical jump and broad jump from the combine. He ran 4.71 seconds in the short shuttle, 7.20 seconds in the three cone drill, and his arms measured at 36 3/4 inches. He also did position drills.
Safety Darian Stewart (5-11 3/8, 211) kept his 40, vertical jump, broad jump and bench press from the combine. He ran 4.18 in the short shuttle, 6.89 in the three-cone drill and did position drills.
Center Garrett Anderson (6-3 7/8, 308) ran 5.15 seconds in the 40 with the wind and 5.16 against it, had a 27 1/2-inch vertical jump, had an 8-foot, 2-inch broad jump, 4.65-second short shuttle, 7.59-second three-cone drill, and did 29 bench presses.
