Williams’ deal with Bengals close, but not final

Veteran Bobbie Williams of the Bengals is perhaps the best offensive guard on the free-agent market. But after a month of free agency, and an ongoing standstill with the Bengals, it still looks like the unrestricted free agent is headed back to Cincinnati.
Williams’ agent told Bengals.com a deal has yet to be finished with the team, but the two sides are waiting for Williams to return from vacation so he can be updated on the negotiations. It sounds like the deal that has been expected since free agency opened is even closer to being done.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Raiders, Cowboys and Texans were also interested in Williams.
Williams has been a fixture for the Bengals, starting every game he’s played since coming over from the Eagles in 2004. He would also be the third unrestricted free agent to re-sign with the Bengals, joining DT Tank Johnson and SS Roy Williams.
