Free safety Quentin Scott impressed scouts from eight teams at Northern Iowa’s pro day on March 31st. Scott (6-3 7/8, 224) worked out as both a defensive back and a wide receiver and put together a really good workout. He ran a 4.40-second and 4.45-second 40-yard dash, had a 35-inch vertical leap, 10-1 broad jump, 4.18-second short shuttle, 6.88-second three-cone drill and completed 13 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds. His arms were measured at 34 5/8 inches.
Ten of Scott’s teammates and two players from small area schools also worked out indoors on Mondo track.
Other notable prospects:
Defensive end James Ruffin (6-3 1/2, 265) ran 4.85 and 4.86 in the 40, had a 33-inch vertical leap, 9-1 broad jump, 4.59-second short shuttle and a 7.60 three-cone drill. Ruffin worked out in March at University of Minnesota’s pro day and kept the number of bench press repetitions (26) from that workout.
Offensive lineman Austin Howard (6-7 3/8, 333) ran 5.42 and 5.40 in the 40, had a 30.5-inch vertical leap, 9-1 broad jump, 4.62 short shuttle, 8.10 three-cone drill and had 19 bench press reps. His arms measured in at 34 inches.
