Redskins eye QBs, but which one will they take?

With three weeks left until draft day, there’s no shortage of smokescreens and misdirection. The Redskins, who hold the fourth overall pick, are right in the middle of all the speculation.

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reported Thursday that while Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen could garner some interest in D.C., the player to watch might be Texas QB Colt McCoy.

La Canfora said the Redskins spent a lot of time with McCoy at Texas’ pro day Wednesday and cautioned reading too much into the fact the team hasn’t scheduled a personal workout with the QB. After all, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan never conducted a personal workout with his last QB pick, Jay Cutler.

While rumors have been flying that the Redskins could try to trade for the Rams’ No. 1 overall pick, then select Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford, La Canfora doesn’t see that happening.

Clausen’s connection to the Redskins is notable, though. Former Redskins personnel honcho and Dan Snyder confidante Vinny Cerrato is very close to Clausen and still could have the owner’s ear, according to La Canfora.
