Don’t miss Merriman getting punked on Total Access

If you follow Shawne Merriman, NFL Network host Rich Eisen or the NFL on Twitter, you’ve already caught digital wind of a pretty sizeable April Fool’s Day prank pulled on the Chargers linebacker earlier Thursday at the Network studios in Los Angeles.

It was good, and Merriman bought into it. Beyond that, not going to ruin the bit. But check out NFL Total Access today for the full video of what went down. We’ll also post it here in the NFL Network blog after the show.

In the Green Room just before the show started, members of the Network crew filed in to apologize for the prank and ask not to be put on Merriman’s retribution list. So you know it was good. For the record, Merriman — who fancies himself a veteran prankster — has vowed revenge on Eisen. As he explains it, the two cross paths too often during the offseason for Eisen not to be worried.

“I’m not going to forget it, I promise you,” Merriman told Eisen.

Merriman is sneaky patient, though. He’ll let the fear of the unknown settle in. This might come back around at any time …
