Despite the cold temperature and poor field conditions on March 22 at the University of Southern Mississippi’s pro day, two players emerged from a field of 18 to catch the eyes of scouts from 14 teams.
Running back Damion Fletcher (5-foot-9 1/8, 182 pounds) ran 4.69 and 4.65 seconds in the 40-yard dash, had a 38-inch vertical leap, 10-1 broad jump, 4.18 short shuttle, 7.16 three-cone drill, and completed eight bench press repetitions of 225 pounds.
Tight end Leroy Banks (6-3, 240) ran 4.66 and 4.71 in the 40, had a 37-inch vertical leap, 9-9 broad jump, 4.13 short shuttle, 6.94 three-cone drill, and did 16 bench press reps.
Both Fletcher and Banks put together good position workouts as well.
