Holt mock draft: Rams turn to Gerald McCoy

Torry Holt unveiled what has to be one of the most interesting mock drafts of the season Thursday on NFL Total Access.

Holt isn’t a big believer in QB Sam Bradford due to his injury history, or the prospects of his success behind the Rams’ offensive line. Taking it a step farther, Holt has Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen as the top-rated quarterback.

Holt throws a curveball, projecting the Rams take DT Gerald McCoy with the first pick.

It’s an interesting angle, and shows different line of thinking could cause ripple effects through the projections we’re used to seeing.

Of his top 10, Holt projected eight offensive and defensive tackles taken, along with no quarterbacks. No Bradford, no Clausen.
