Report: Jets will host Thanksgiving primetime game

On the heels of news earlier this week that the Jets would host the Week 1 Monday night game at the new stadium they will share with the Giants, the New York Daily News is reporting the team also will host the primetime game on Thanksgiving.
NFL officials wouldn’t comment on the report. In recent years, the league has announced the Week 1 primetime lineup and other primetime games for the upcoming season at the NFL Annual Meeting. The 2010 NFL Annual Meeting is set to begin Sunday in Orlando, Fla.
If the Jets do host the Thanksgiving night game, then one of the Thanksgiving afternoon games also would fall into place, as the Lions would host the Patriots.
The Lions and Cowboys alternate hosting an AFC team on Thanksgiving (the game that is aired on CBS). This is the Lions’ year to host an AFC team, and the only two AFC teams schedule to play in Detroit this season are the Jets and Patriots.
