Arkansas State pair get lucky break at pro day

It was a lucky St. Patrick’s Day for a pair of Arkansas State NFL hopefuls at the school’s pro day.

Defensive back Marcus Brown and running back Reggie Arnold stood out among 10 Arkansas State players vying for the attention of scouts from 11 teams. The workouts took place indoors on FieldTurf.

Brown (6-0 5/8, 195) ran 4.52 and 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash, had a 37.5-inch vertical leap, 11-1 broad jump, 4.46 short shuttle, 7.14 three-cone drill and did position drills.

Arnold (5-8 3/8, 219) ran 4.62 and 4.65 in the 40, had a 31.5-inch vertical leap, 9-4 broad jump, 4.43 short shuttle, 7.40 three-cone drill, completed 24 bench press repetitions at 225 pounds and did position drills.

Defensive lineman Alex Carrington, who was the only Arkansas State player to attend the NFL Scouting Combine, was injured and will work out on April 8.
