Total Access: Best offseason moves
Published: March 15th, 2010 | Tags: Antonio Cromartie, Antrel Rolle, Darrelle Revis, Jamie Dukes, NFL Total Access, Rod Woodson
NFL Total Access broke out its NFL offseason bracket on Monday, launching the debate as to who is the top offseason acquisition (in trades or free agency) so far. Starting with a field of eight, analysts Jamie Dukes and Rod Woodson discussed which players will make the biggest impact with their new teams next season.
The only disagreement in the first round of the bracket took place between No. 4 seed Antrel Rolle and No. 5 seed Antonio Cromartie. Woodson likes Rolle’s coverage ability as a safety, which will allow the Giants to stay in their base defense. Dukes went with Cromartie, who possesses the ball skills necessary playing opposite Darrelle Revis to rack up the interceptions.
We now know that host Fran Charles officially holds the tie-breaker in his mini-tournament. He went with Rolle.
So, in the end, all four of the top seeds advanced on Monday. Now the bracket advances to the final four players, which will be debated on Tuesday’s Total Access:
(1) Julius Peppers, Bears
(4) Antrel Rolle, Giants
(3) Karlos Dansby, Dolphins
(2) Anquan Boldin, Ravens
Who should advance as the top NFL offseason acquisition so far?
