The Bengals are bringing back veteran safety Roy Williams. Agent Jordan Woy confirmed his client agreed to a one-year deal with Cincinnati on the team’s Web site.
Williams appeared in just four games last season, his first with the Bengals, due to a forearm fracture. It marked his second straight campaign cut short by a forearm injury.
Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer told the team’s Web site that Williams’ arm, which didn’t need surgery, is improving.
“We wouldn’t have signed him last year and we wouldn’t have brought him back if we didn’t think he showed us something,” Zimmer said. “He’ll hit you.”
Williams has appeared in 102 games in eight seasons with 19 interceptions.
