Packers sign Pickett to four-year, $28 million deal

The Packers announced Friday that they have signed NT Ryan Pickett to a long-term deal that could keep him in Green Bay through the 2013 season.

Pickett, a nine-year veteran, had been on a franchise tag, but he agreed to a four-year, $28 million deal, with $10 million coming in the first year of the contract, according to a league source.

Pickett just completed his fourth season with the Packers and had 33 tackles. He was a key member of Green Bay’s top-ranked run defense.
