The Eagles announced that they will host two free agents – RB Justin Fargas and WR Hank Baskett — on Friday. Both players will be available to the media, starting with Baskett at 11 a.m. ET and followed by Fargas at 1:30 pm ET.
Fargas, 30, was released by the Raiders on Sunday after seven seasons with the team. He has rushed for 3,369 yards and 10 TDs, and also caught 77 passes for 523 yards, during his NFL career. He led the Raiders in rushing from 2006-08.
Fargas could give the Eagles a veteran presence in the backfield following the release Brian Westbrook. LeSean McCoy, a rookie last season, has the most game experience among Philadelphia’s current running backs.
Baskett, 27, spent three-plus seasons with the Eagles before they cut him Sept. 15, and owns three of the top-10 longest plays in team history (90-, 89- and 87-yard touchdowns). He spent the rest of 2009 with the Colts and played in Super Bowl XLIV, although his inability to recover an onside kick to start the second half helped spark a Saints rally.
The Eagles are looking at Baskett after they re-signed Jason Avant and traded Reggie Brown to the Buccaneers earlier this week.
