By all accounts, Kentucky’s pro day was a big success. Despite the fact that scouts were not served lunch, rookie head coach Joker Phillips opened the doors for 10 teams to watch 13 players work out indoors on FieldTurf.
DL Corey Peters (6-foot-3, 301 pounds) had a solid workout in the positional drills. Peters ran 4.90 and 4.91 seconds in the 40-yard dash, a 4.49 short shuttle, 7.31 three-cone drill, posted an 8-foot, 7-inch broad jump, and 26 bench press lifts. Peters chose to keep his vertical jump numbers from the combine.
RB Alphonso Smith (6-foot 1/4, 211), who did not work out at the combine, ran a 4.38 and 4.38 in the 40, 4.31 short shuttle and a 7.21 three-cone drill. He posted a 36-inch vertical jump, 9-9 broad jump, and 19 bench press lifts.
DB Trevard Lindley ran a 4.51 and 4.50 in the 40 and did position drills. He kept the rest of his numbers from the combine.
LB Micah Johnson (6-foot-1 5/8, 256 pounds) posted a 4.84 and 4.92 in the 40, an 8-foot, 11-inch broad jump, 4.26 short shuttle, 7.34 three-cone drill. Johnson chose to keep his vertical jump and bench press numbers from the combine.
FB John Conner weighed in at 241 pounds and chose to keep the rest of his numbers and measurements from the combine.
LB Sam Maxwell (6-1 3/8, 244) ran a 4.98 and 5.02 40, 4.53 short shuttle and 7.37 three-cone drill. He posted a 31-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 4-inch broad jump.
