The Philadelphia Eagles and restricted free agent wide receiver Jason Avant have agreed to terms on a five-year contract, according to NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Avant, a fourth-round pick of the Eagles in 2006, had been assigned a second-round tender by the Eagles, meaning if another team signed Avant to an offer sheet and the Eagles didn’t match the offer, that team would have had to pay Philadelphia a second-round pick.
Avant caught 41 passes in 2009 for 587 yards and three touchdowns. In four NFL seasons, Avant has 103 career receptions for 1,299 yards and eight touchdowns.
