Justin Fargas has a visit scheduled with the Chiefs, and “several” other teams already have contacted the free-agent running back, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Fargas was released by the Raiders on Saturday, and he ruled out a return. Fargas also told the Chronicle that he’s healthy despite failing a physical with the team.
- “I was told by the coach that they were moving in a different direction,” Fargas said. “They said it was strictly about money. … I know some things were put out there, I guess they said I didn’t pass a physical. I’m a little disappointed by the way it happened but I understand it’s a business.
- “I definitely appreciate being able to spend seven years as a Raider. I’ve always loved the Raiders. I just want to do everything I can to help another team win a championship. I still have a lot of football in me. I’m fine (health-wise).”
Fargas also discussed the possibility of moving across the Bay to the 49ers to reunite with his former running backs coach, Tom Rathman, who was with the Raiders from 2006 to 2008. But Fargas didn’t say if he was contacted by the team.
