Lions in hot pursuit of free-agent DE Vanden Bosch

The Lions are making a strong push for veteran DE Kyle Vanden Bosch.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz, Vanden Bosch’s former defensive coordinator with the Titans, visited with the former Pro Bowl pick right after the Friday midnight free-agency period began, according to a league source. Schwartz traveled to Vanden Bosch’s house for the meeting.

The Lions are looking to upgrade what was a woeful defense last season. To that end, they agreed to acquire veteran DL Corey Williams from the Browns for a late-round draft pick.
