The first deal of free agency happened a little over two hours into the signing period early Friday morning, as WR Nate Burleson agreed to terms with the Lions, a league source told NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora.
NFL.com’s Steve Wyche reports that Burleson has agreed to a five-year, $25 million contract. The former Seahawks wideout will receive $11 million guaranteed, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Burleson drew significant initial interest, and Seattle, his former team, also was interested in retaining him. He played in 13 games last season, finishing with 63 catches for 812 yards and three touchdowns.
In seven NFL seasons with the Vikings and Seahawks, Burleson has 263 receptions for 3,547 yards and 27 touchdowns.
