Prospects work out at Buffalo

The University of Buffalo held its pro day Wednesday, with 11 Buffalo seniors working out indoors on field turf.

The team’s top NFL prospect, RB James Starks, checked in at 6-foot-1 7/8 and 214 pounds, but he did not work out – choosing instead to stand on his combine numbers. At the combine, Starks ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 and 4.48, had a 36-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 11-inch broad jump, 4.23 short shuttle and 6.29 three-cone drill.

Among the players who did work out, here are a couple of note:

WR Naaman Roosevelt (6-0 1/8, 189) ran 4.60 and 4.63 in the 40-yard dash, had a 36-inch vertical jump, 9-8 broad jump, 4.02 short shuttle. 6.95 three-cone drill and had 12 bench press reps.

CB Mike Newton (5-10, 197) ran 4.48 and 4.53 in the 40-yard dash, with a 41-inch vertical jump, 10-0 broad jump, 4.09 short shuttle, 6.94 three-cone drill, and had nine bench press reps.
