Vikings extend tender to QB Jackson

The Vikings have tendered a contract to QB Tarvaris Jackson at a third-round level, according to a league source.

Jackson, a fourth-year restricted free agent, was tendered at $1.176M. He is a former second-round pick, but because of other tenders issued by the Vikings this tender does not guarantee the team a second-round pick as compensation for him.
