Draft preparation under way … for 2010 and beyond

While NFL teams are in high gear as far as the 2010 draft process is concerned, believe it or not they are also well on their way in preparation for next year’s draft.
While Wednesday was the start of the unofficial “pro day season” on college campuses around the country — and NFL.com will have daily updates on how the draft prospects fare at these events — it was also the first day for scouts to look at top prospects for 2011.
Purdue University held its “Junior Pro Day” on Wednesday, and eight NFL teams were on hand as all returning players for next season’s Boilermaker squad were weighed and measured. No workouts were conducted, just measurements for teams to have on file before the 2010 college season begins.
Still, a reminder that it’s never too early to begin the process.
