Tate posts fastest times among second receivers

INDIANAPOLIS — The second, and much larger, group of wide receivers has finished running 40-yard dashes for the day, with eight prospects posting unofficial sub-4.5-second times.

Notre Dame’s Golden Tate timed out as the fastest of the 20 receivers who ran Sunday, posting unofficially at 4.36 and 4.37. It was a good day for Tate, who’s ranked No. 4 among receivers by NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock.

Here’s a quick look at the other receivers from the second group with the best (unofficial) times:
Louisville’s Scott Long — 4.46 and 4.48
South Florida’s Carlton Mitchell — 4.44 and 4.42
Ohio’s Taylor Price — 4.43 and 4.43
The Citadel’s Andre Roberts — 4.40 and 4.46
SMU’s Emmanuel Sanders — 4.43 and 4.43
Arizona State’s Kyle Williams — 4.39 and 4.45
Syracuse’s Mike Williams — 4.45 and 4.46

That group of receivers currently is working on receiving drills, then will be done with their day of workouts.
