Shockey, Winslow, Olsen … Graham?

INDIANAPOLIS — In the past decade, four tight ends from the University of Miami were drafted in the first round (Bubba Franks, Jeremy Shockey, Kellen Winslow and Greg Olsen). To put that number in perspective, not a single other school had more than one over the past 10 years.
The next top tight end prospect out of Miami, Jimmy Graham, doesn’t figure to reach first-round status, but after an impressive Senior Bowl week, he could really fly up teams draft boards with an outstanding combine, and his Hurricane brethren are doing all they can to help him.
“I had a chance to talk to Jeremy Shockey the week that they (the Saints) won the Super Bowl, and all those guys really kind of look after all of us younger guys,” Graham said. “I definitely embrace those guys.”
Graham has been working out with Olsen in preparation for the combine and credits the current Bear with helping him get ready.
“He’s been pretty accurate so far,” Graham said. “He told me a lot of things, and pretty much everything was spot on.”
