Randy Hanson has filed a civil lawsuit against Raiders coach Tom Cable and the team, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Hanson’s lawyer filed the suit Tuesday in Alameda County, Calif. It alleges assault and battery stemming from an incident during training camp, after which Hanson was treated for a broken jaw.

The district attorney in Napa, where the incident took place, dropped the case after an investigation and didn’t pursue charges against Cable.

Hanson remains with the Raiders, although he moved into the personnel department after being an assistant coach.
