Dolphins LB Jason Taylor recently underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery, and is expected to be out three months before he can resume normal workouts, reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Taylor, 35, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on March 5, but it doesn’t appear he’ll be signing anywhere soon. According to his agent, Gary Wichard, Taylor will be sidelined “three months or so,” putting his return sometime in May — the period in which most teams conduct organized team activities.
Taylor has gone on the record saying he wants to return for his 14th NFL season with the Dolphins, but his future in Miami remains uncertain. Dolphins executive vice president-football operations Bill Parcells was non-committal about Taylor’s return during a recent live chat on NFL.com, saying the topic hadn’t been discussed.
