University of Texas QB Colt McCoy told the Austin American-Statesman on Monday that he’s progressing well from a shoulder injury and plans to participate in passing drills at the NFL Scouting Combine next week.
“I see the doctors every week,” McCoy said. “I go through the rehab process every day. I’m healing much quicker than normal.”
McCoy hurt the shoulder during the Jan. 7 BCS national championship game. He threw just two passes before departing during Texas’ 37-21 loss to Alabama.
Now, just five weeks later, McCoy already is launching 40 to 50 passes per day, according to the American-Statesman.
The combine begins Feb. 24 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Tune in to NFL Network for all the latest television coverage, and track the event online on NFL.com.
