Bears pro personnel director Bobby DePaul was escorted out of Halas Hall on Monday after either resigning or being fired, the Chicago Tribune reported, citing two league sources.
DePaul had been with the Bears since 2001 and was credited with the trade that brought QB Jay Cutler to Chicago last offseason. DePaul and Bears general manager Jerry Angelo reportedly had a good relationship, as the latter hired the former.
DePaul also was an assistant coach in the NFL, working for the Redskins and Bengals before becoming a scout for the Eagles.
UPDATE: The Bears announced in a press release that they had fired DePaul.
