MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — The ultimate Super Bowl pregame party is going down just a few hundred feet from where the Super Bowl will take place in a few hours. It kinda makes sense that the biggest football game of the year deserves the biggest tailgate party.
I was able to find a few moments to check out the NFL Tailgate Party with our Super Bowl photographers — you can check out the scene in our pregame Super Bowl gallery. Everyone looked happy.
The NFL Tailgate Party has pretty much everything one can imagine a tailgate party should have. Three massive tents surround the main stage, with kiosks serving food from every end of the pregame menu — from Reuben papa rellenas to mini Cuban sandwiches to sausage. I’m leaving a lot of the list, for the sake of brevity.
You can even get fresh veggies and salad. I can’t say I recommend that. You can also get your nails polished, listen to a grand player piano or a gospel choir. There’s even some daybed-type setups to take a nap. Not even kidding. Pregame nap stations.
Daughtry had just started onstage as I exited (couldn’t help but notice I was the only one leaving), and Steve Winwood is up later. I’m headed back inside the stadium to catch the arrivals of the Colts and Saints.
