Washington Redskins RB Clinton Portis, who played under Mike Shanahan for two years in Denver, can’t wait to be reunited with his former head coach.
Portis said as much when he sat down with Rich Eisen, Deion Sanders and Warren Sapp on the NFL Network set in South Beach on Friday. When asked by Sapp whether or not he might retire after missing the final eight games of the season due to a concussion, Portis’ answer was an emphatic no.
“Clinton Portis is looking forward to playing with Mike Shanahan again,” he said. “No retirement in me.”
Watch the video as Portis opens up about the circumstances surrounding his previous split with Shanahan, his determination to prove that he can still play at a high level, and how Jason Campbell can benefit from Shanahan’s arrival to D.C.
