Rain forces Saints to shift plans

DAVIE, Fla. — One day into Super Bowl week, and the South Florida rain already is changing the Saints’ schedule.
The Saints arrived first Monday, but they were forced to move their practice and news conferences approximately 50 miles north to the Dolphins’ facility because their scheduled location — the University of Miami — doesn’t have an indoor practice area. That drive can be as long as two hours.
The Saints conducted practice when they arrived, and their news conferences scheduled to begin at 3:45 p.m. ET were pushed back to start at 5:30 p.m.
The Dolphins’ facility, however, is only a temporary home for the Saints. The facility already is the designated practice location for the Colts, meaning more rain throughout the week could force some decisions for the Saints. I’m sure Saints coach Sean Payton will address the issue when he comes out.
