After Steve McNair died in July, Titans QB Vince Young decided to take his idol’s children under his wing. His generosity has continued at the Pro Bowl.
Young invited two of McNair’s sons, 11-year-old Tyler and 6-year-old Trenton, to spend the week with him in South Florida, according to The Tennessean. The boys attended practice Saturday and later spent the afternoon rough-housing with Young.
“Those are my little brothers, my boys,” Young told The Tennessean. “And I would do anything for them and as long as they’re smiling and happy.”
Said Tyler: “We’re having fun. He’s surprising us with a lot of stuff. He has been great to me and my brother. I think it’s because he cares for us and he loves us like we love him.”
According to The Tennessean, McNair passed up the Pro Bowl in 2006 because he knew Young was behind him and would go instead. Now Young is repaying McNair’s family with the trip — the late QB’s wife, Mechelle, also is there.
