McKinnie still absent from NFC practice

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Bryant McKinnie missed a second consecutive practice Saturday, and senior columnist Vic Carucci speculated that the Vikings’ offensive tackle could be sent home.

Panthers DE Julius Peppers, who also missed Friday’s practice, returned Saturday and was on the field at Lockhart Stadium as the NFC squad went through a light walkthrough.

There hasn’t been an official comment from NFC coach Wade Phillips. But past history suggests that fines for missing Pro Bowl practices are almost automatic.
