FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — I was just roaming around on the second floor of the team’s hotel when I unexpectedly crossed paths with Jets coach Rex Ryan. Hey, I was surprised to see the big fella.

But I said “hi” to Rex real fast and asked what he was doing here, and he simply said he was here to relax (I’m sure he’s here for other reasons, too). Anyway, I’ve got to tell you. I know Rex has lived up to his reputation as a bold and brash guy. But when you walk next to him, you really get an understanding of it.

I don’t think it’s because he’s such big guy, but he is a presence to say the least. Certainly, the Big Apple is the right spot for Rex.
