FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Browns whiz Joshua Cribbs is quickly becoming a Pro Bowl favorite of NFL.com. Check out his video diary and other videos from this week, and you’ll see why.
Cribbs explained Thursday how he’s going to honor the teammates who helped him get to his second Pro Bowl. He brought nine of his core special teams blockers — Jerome Harrison, Lawrence Vickers, Blake Costanzo, Nick Sorensen and Ray Ventrone among them — in for Pro Bowl week, and he’s going to rotate wearing their jerseys the rest of the week, including Sunday’s game. Bonus points on creativity for Cribbs.
As for his contract situation, Cribbs says he’s excited to play in the new regime under Mike Holmgren and wants to be in Cleveland when “the ship is righted.” He went on to explain the fans are his motivation.
“The fans are bare-none, just amazing,” Cribbs said. “They keep me there. Everyone is amazing, everywhere I go. They accept me with warm blood. Even throughout the situation — athletes asking for more money, that’s a touchy subject, espcially in a blue-collar city. Not in Cleveland. They treat me like I’m their brother or a family member. They show so much love to me, it’s remarkable.”
