AFC players ready for the late practice

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A little bit of extra sleep for the AFC Pro Bowlers must’ve felt pretty nice today.
They get the late morning practice, which starts at 10:30 a.m. ET and will be aired live on NFL Network, and the guys were trickling down from their rooms little by little starting about 45 minutes ago.
Ray Rice, Maurice Jones-Drew, David Garrard, and Heath Miller were among the first to make their way to the makeshift locker room near the team’s hotel entrance, energy bars, bananas and coffee in hand. Gotta get that early-morning energy boost, fellas!
Speaking of Miller, the Steelers tight end stopped by a Reebok table set up in the lobby to sign some jerseys that a Reebok representative told me will be given out to various charities. It’s good to see the NFL guys not losing sight of the things that matter most while on a mini-vacation.
