Sparano mum on Porter’s future with Dolphins

MOBILE Ala. — In his post-practice press conference here at the Senior Bowl, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano was asked to respond to questions about star linebacker Joey Porter’s future.

Unconfirmed reports of a radio interview in which Porter supposedly blasted the Dolphins and said he wanted out have stoked rumors that the former Pro Bowler could be done in Miami.

The radio interview, however, is in question and the Sun-Sentinel is reporting that there is no transcript of any interview or proof that it even occurred.

As for his part, Sparano refused to address the situation. He acknowledged he spoke with Porter after the season, but said anything that was discussed would remain “in-house.”

Asked if any decision on Porter’s future with the team had been made, Sparano said no.
