The Pro Bowl is sold out, NFL vice president of events Frank Supovitz told NFL.com on Tuesday night.
“That’s what I had our sights on a year ago,” Supovitz said.
Sunday’s all-star game at Sun Life Stadium in Miami will be the highest-attended Pro Bowl since 1959, according to Supovitz. That year’s game had an announced attendance of 72,250 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
More than 70,000 fans are expected to be in attendance Sunday. The game is being held on the mainland after 30 years in Honolulu.
The Pro Bowl will return to Hawaii in 2011 and 2012.
