Vikings without CB Griffin in overtime

Vikings CB Cedric Griffin had to be helped off the field following Pierre Thomas‘ opening kick return in overtime of the Vikings-Saints NFC Championship Game. Griffin limped off the field with the help of a couple teammates and was replaced by veteran Benny Sapp.

Thomas took Ryan Longwell‘s kickoff to the Saints’ 39, and was in for injured kick returner Courtney Roby, who appeared to hurt his leg on the Saints’ final kick return of the fourth quarter. Roby was unable to put pressure on his left leg as he was helped off the field.
