Warner leaves with chest injury

First CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, then FS Antrel Rolle, and now QB Kurt Warner. It’s been a tough day on the injury front for the Cardinals.

Warner just left the field for the locker room at the Superdome and has been announced as questionable to return against the Saints due to a chest injury. Backup QB Matt Leinart is preparing to enter a game the Cardinals now trail 35-14.

The Cardinals’ quarterback took a vicious hit from Saints DE Bobby McCray following an interception midway through the second quarter. Warner was in the open field when McCray hit him from the side, a hit that looked to be legal. The hit, however, de-cleated Warner and left him shaken on the turf. He was able to leave the field and get to the bench on his own power, where he consulted with the medical staff. He later left the sideline as well.

Rodgers-Cromartie is doubtful to return due to a sprained left knee, while Rolle sustained a head injury and was announced as questionable to return.
