Hey John, I’m really excited and confident that Carroll and the new coaching staff can turn things around for us and bring us back to Super Bowl form. How pumped are you for next year, and how do you think this will affect your performance next year?

Carlson: Well, there’s going to be a transition period. As players we’re going to have to learn a new offense obviously and get used to dealing with different coaches. That being said, this year wasn’t acceptable. We didn’t win enough. I’m excited about getting at it in the offseason and re-focusing on preparing to have a good season next year.

One of the most exciting things I’ve heard about Pete Carroll’s philosophy is that he believes in tailoring his basic system to best suit his players’ strengths. It seemed to me that you weren’t put in the proper places to succeed last year. Are you excited about working in a more adaptive system?

Carlson: I’ll say that it is important, as a player, to be put in position to use your abilities and talents. Everyone at this level is talented and fast and strong, but we’re all unique. Hopefully we will be allowed to do what we do best and put in position to make plays.

Gerald, Salt Lake City, Utah
what do you think and or hear from other Seahawks about the need for a QB change? Matt is in my opinion the greatest QB in Seahawks history. having said that injerys have realy slowed him in the last 2 years,is he gonna be able to return to his former self?

Carlson: Well, to be honest, I haven’t had any discussions with teammates about Matt. In my opinion, he’s a great leader and smart. I don’t think the casual football fan realizes how smart of a player he is, how many times he changes calls at the line based on the defense. I’m a huge fan, and as a young player he has really helped me along. I’m always going to be a supporter of Matt.
