Haslett interviews for Redskins’ D-coordinator job

Former Saints coach Jim Haslett was at Redskins Park on Monday to interview for Washington’s defensive coordinator vacancy, according to numerous league sources.

The Redskins also are interested in Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer as a candidate.

Haslett, who coached in the UFL during the 2009 season, has talked to others about his desire to bring former Chiefs defensive line coach Tim Krumrie with him.

The Redskins also are scheduled to interview former Giants defensive line coach Mike Waufle this week, according to sources.

UPDATE: Zimmer is no longer a candidate after he received a three-year contract to stay with the Bengals, NFL.com’s Steve Wyche reports.
