Former Giants D-coordinator likely to join Dolphins

NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi reports that former Giants defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan is expected to join the Dolphins as linebackers coach, according to a team source.

Sheridan was fired by Giants coach Tom Coughlin last week after the team finished an 8-8 season. The Giants lost eight of their final 11 games.

Sheridan was promoted from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator in New York after Steve Spagnuolo became the Rams’ head coach.

The Dolphins also are looking for a defensive coordinator after they fired Paul Pasqualoni on Monday.
