Carroll, Seahawks will meet Sunday to finalize contract

USC coach Pete Carroll is scheduled to meet with Seahawks officials again Sunday as the sides work to finalize a contract. An announcement of a deal with Carroll could come by Monday, with the team set to interview candidates for its vacant GM job later in the week.

Carroll and the team agreed to many elements of a structure of a deal over the weekend, and the Seahawks have complied with the Rooney Rule and thus could move forward with the hiring as they please.

Carroll could end up bringing several USC assistants with him to Seattle. New Mexico State coach DeWayne Walker, a former defensive coordinator and secondary coach with the Redskins, also is a candidate to join the staff.
