Bengals deactivate RB Johnson; Harris ready for Jets

We’ve just received the list of inactive players for the Jets and Bengals, which doesn’t contain any surprises.

The Bengals deactivated RB Larry Johnson, a move that isn’t expected to have a major impact on Saturday’s game. Backup SS Tom Nelson (knee), who started three games during the course of the season, will also be held out after he was listed as questionable.

As expected, the Bengals will get several starters back against the Jets — FS Chris Crocker (ankle), DE Robert Geathers (knee) and DT Domata Peko — are all active after sitting out last week. All were listed as probable.

Here are the Bengals’ other inactives: FB Fui Vakapuna, TE Darius Hill, OL Jonathan Luigs, RB Jerome Simpson and DT Orien Harris. Jordan Palmer is listed as the emergency No. 3 quarterback.

As we posted earlier, LB David Harris is active for the Jets. The Jets, however, did deactivate CB Donald Strickland (quadricep), who was also listed as questionable.

The Jets inactives: QB Kevin O’Connell, RB Chauncey Washington, LB Ryan Fowler, OG Matt Slauson, DE Ropati Pitoitua and LB Marques Murrell.
