In addition to firing head coach Jim Mora today, the Seahawks continue to look for a new general manager. One name that has been taken off that list is Eric DeCosta.
DeCosta, the Ravens director of player personnel, was one of four candidates for the GM job in Seattle but has pulled himself from consideration, according to a league source. That leaves Packers director of football operations John Schneider, Philadelphia GM Tom Heckert and Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross as those still in the mix.
DeCosta is the right-hand man of Baltimore GM Ozzie Newsome, and is very highly regarded within that organization. The Seahawks are hoping to interview candidates next week.
