I came home to Connecticut for the final week of the regular season to visit with friends and family. Part of that included going to my old stomping grounds and visiting my pals from The NFL Today at CBS.
During my visit, I checked my Twitter account on my iPhone and noticed a message from my man, Warren Sapp. It was a re-tweet from Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco after he saw that I had him as a sit ’em this week, partly because he had to face Jets CB Darrelle Revis:
RT @QBKILLA@OGOchoCinco: @mikefabianonfl a fantasy guru? These people wouldn’t know football if it hit them in the head! Guru? Child please
Then the fun began. Here’s our little Twitter “discussion”:
@mikefabianonfl:if you a guru you would know its not the reciever who gets shut down its his style of play that causes him to lose battles
@mikefabianonfl-sometimes in boxing the best fighter doesn’t always win but his fighting style allows him to prevail.
@mikefabianonfl-if you don’t know what I mean pay close attention tonight to my style of play-it doesn’t allow me to be stopped!
@mikefabianonfl-being a fantasy guy is more than just looking at stats-understand the players and how they match up against one another
@OGOchoCinco in fantasy it’s all about points and production not style. You’re a star WR but tonight might not be your night!
@OGOchoCinco you even playing the whole game tonight? You might be freezing on the sidelines in 2nd half my man!
@OGOchoCinco Revis has stopped Moss, Smith, Colston, Andre Johnson, Roddy from putting up good fantasy numbers, and that was in full games.
@mikefabianonfl-listen its your style of play that gets you points n production, I play the game, trust me I know what I’m talking about
@mikefabianonfl-my head coach told me to prepare this week the same as I did thee other 16 which I hope means I’m playng the entire game
@OGOchoCinco not doubting your skills and knowledge. Just don’t like your matchup and potential lack of playing time tonight.
@OGOchoCinco for the sake of fantasy owners that start you this week, I hope you prove me wrong.
That’s where it ended. Fun stuff.
Chad’s a good guy, but unfortunately for him (and fantasy owners who started him), he hurt his knee in pregame warmups. He played for a limited time Sunday night but didn’t catch a pass. Looks like another victim of Revis (and in this case, really cold weather and some bad luck).
In his latest tweet, Chad mentioned going for an MRI on the knee. He also said his knee was stiff.
Hope you’re all right, my man.
