It was a short day of work Sunday for Chargers QB Philip Rivers against the Washington Redskins. Leading 10-0 late in the first quarter and not willing to risk an injury, the Chargers pulled Rivers in favor of backup Billy Volek.
Rivers played two series, completing 9 of 15 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown.
The Chargers, who also held out several ailing starters for the game, have already locked down the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff picture.
