Patriots WR Wes Welker left Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Texans with an apparent left knee injury and was carted to the locker room. He will not return to the game.
Welker tried to cut to his right during a first-quarter pass play, but his left knee gave out, and he crumpled to the turf.
If Welker is lost for the playoffs, it would be a huge blow for the Patriots since he entered the game with a career-high 122 receptions for 1,336 yards and four touchdowns.
